You’re all wrong, Apple will announce the iPhone nano
For a while now, rumors on the internet go wild about Apple’s tablet, and everybody without a clue is writing articles without knowing anything. So I thought to myself some minutes ago: Hey, I don’t know shit about anything and don’t have any sources, so let’s write an article, too. And here it is:
Apple is going to announce the iPhone nano
Why? Because the iPhone is to expensive to gain significant marketshare from this point on. I am not an Apple fan, but I have to admit, the iPhone is one of if not the best smartphone ever created. And that’s of course very nice for Apple, but not enough to make money because the majority of people won’t pay for the price Apple is (rightfully) asking.
The most successful iPod is the iPod nano
It’s small, has alle the features 90% of people need, and while I wouldn’t call it cheap it’s within the price range of most people who are looking for a music player with a color display.
Apple is a smart company. They produce premium products at a premium price and they won’t change that in the forseeable future. But apple doesn’t produce supercars. They produces computers, music players and mobile phones. Thes are not luxury goods anymore and Apple would be stupid to ignore everyone but high paying customers.
So what specs will it have?
Well, there are basically two possibilites. Either the normal iPhone will see an upgrade and the iPhone nano will have similar capabilities (except size of the device and by extension screen) as the current iPhone, or, I think this will more likely be the case, Apple will decrease storage capacity, shrink the size and remove some features, possibly GPS and the camera.
Also, like the iPod nano it will of course be available in different colors. This makes much mor sense then Macrumors theory about the different carrier colors in my opinion.
And if they do release a tablet and no iPhone nano?
Well then I am wrong, and as I wrote in the beginning of this article, I have no Idea what I am talking about anyway.
That being said, I strongly believe that eventually they will have to add a lower cost iPhone to their lineup to appeal to more customers, even if they don’t do it today.
